Transforming a traditional-looking house into a modern bungalow.

Taking the floor finish from golden oak to a rich walnut was the key in providing contrast to the newly-painted white walls and trim. By adding color and texture in other ways like art, plants, and rugs, we created an interior that feels both lived-in and modern. An updated staircase is the new first impression when entering through the front door. Navy blue is repeated throughout to provide continuity between spaces and a subtle, coastal aesthetic for a couple who divide their time between Siesta Key and Ann Arbor.
